Turning asphalt into art: Murals are painted on two crosswalks
It is a first step in what is hoped will be many to establish public works of art around town.
The Town Council recently approved a plan to paint brightly colored murals on two crosswalks in the government district. Mayor Allan Smith and the nonprofit arts group he founded called Rocky Hill Arts Now got the idea from crosswalk murals that decorate Main Street in downtown Middletown.

Committed to service: Residents attend military academies
Many high school graduates go off to college after graduation to further their education and prepare for a career.
A select few attend prestigious military academies with the understanding that after they earn their undergraduate degrees they will serve their country in its armed forces.
One of them is Eva Artioli, the daughter of Joe Artioli and Christie Carpino. A member of the Cromwell High School Class of 2026, she’s off to Colorado Springs to attend the U.S. Air Force
