Cromwell High School presents its ninth annual Career Expo from 8:15-11 a.m. March 31 in the gymnasium. This event, designed to bridge the gap between education and the workforce, will provide students with the opportunity to explore career paths and connect with local businesses, organizations and professionals from a wide range of industries.

There will be representatives from various sectors including health care, technology, engineering,

retail, arts and more. Students will have the chance to ask questions, gain insights, and explore potential internships, apprenticeships and job opportunities within the local community.

“This event is a fantastic way for students to make real-world connections between what they are learning in school and careers they may want to pursue post-graduation,” said faculty member Mary Tobias, who is spearheading this event. “It’s a wonderful way to bring the community and the school together to support our students.”

This program started with a few local business people sharing their stories with a small group of students working on their transition goals and has grown each year since its inception to include more than 50 local businesses speaking to the entire student body in grades 9-12.

Local businesses, nonprofit organizations and community leaders have volunteered their time and expertise to make this event a success. Each presenter will showcase the career path, skills and education necessary to be successful in these various professions while also offering practical advice about making the transition from high school to post-secondary options.

“We are thrilled to partner with local businesses, alumni and organizations to create this hands-on experience. We hope to inspire students to think about their future careers and the opportunities available right here in our community,” Tobias said. CL
